Sad to say, our ‘boy free’ week is over, and life is back to its chaotic self … the boys have been skiing in Japan for the last week, and the girl and I have made the most of it.
Friday was their last day of skiing before setting off for a bus trip and two plane trips home, a two hour and a ten hour flight. I had just got home on Friday afternoon when I opened an email from the boy to say that DH had been in an accident and had gone to hospital! He had a bad fall at 2 pm.
He visited two hospitals (where no one spoke any English) for x-rays etc., and was diagnosed with a badly sprained ankle and a broken leg … so of course, he then ride the bus for four hours, then flew for twelve hours, and Sunday morning I picked up a tired boy and a dad with a broken leg at 9 am in the morning.
We drove straight to the Emergency department of a big hospital nearby and sat for the next six hours while he had more x-rays and tests to make sure he didn’t have blood clots and left with his leg in plaster.
This week we have several doctors appointments to attend, where they will assess the damage. There is a fear that he has stripped the tissue away from between the two bones in his lower leg and will have to have surgery to have the two bones pinned together. We won’t know a formal diagnosis till the end of the week … so I have a hubby at home for a few weeks at the very least, as he will be working from home.
Life is never boring at my house!
